In 2021 nationals of 99 countries may visit Colombia without a tourist visa.

Visitors from visa-free countries may visit Colombia for tourism and leisure, but must obtain a visa to live and work in Colombia.

Visa-free entry to Colombia is permitted for stays of up to 90 days with a possibility to be extended for another 90 days.

stay up to 90 days – PIP

Upon arrival to Colombia, visitors with visa exemption will have their passport stamped with a PIP entry permit stamp by an immigration control officer.

PIP (Permiso de Ingreso y Permanencia) is offered to foreigners whose nationality does not require a visa and who intend to enter the national territory without the intention of establishing or living permanently in Colombia.

With this stamp a foreigner is permitted to stay up to 90 days.

extension up to total 180 days – Ptp

If a foreigner wishes to extend the stay in Colombia without leaving the country, s/he may apply online for a further 90 days.

PTP (Permiso Temporal de Permanencia) has to be applied online 1 week before the expiration of PIP. The immigration office that process PTP is Migración Colombia. For many foreigners this procedure is free of charge.

The maximum length of time a foreigner can stay in Colombia without a visa is 180 days within one (1) calendar year.
